What we collect
Account info (name, email, phone), booking details, payment metadata (handled by Paystack — we never store card numbers), messages and any media you upload as a delivery. Creators additionally provide bank account details for payouts, verified via Paystack.
How we use it
To run the marketplace: process bookings, route payments and payouts, deliver videos, send transactional emails and prevent fraud. We do not sell your data and we do not use third-party advertising trackers.
Who we share data with
Paystack (payments & payouts), our cloud infrastructure provider for hosting and database, and transactional email providers. Each is bound by their own privacy obligations and only processes data needed to deliver the service.
POPIA & your rights
Under the Protection of Personal Information Act you can request access, correction or deletion of your data at any time by emailing privacy@vela.co.za.
Cookies
We use first-party cookies for authentication and session management only. No third-party advertising trackers.
Data retention
We keep booking and payment records for 5 years for tax and dispute purposes, then delete them. Deliveries can be removed earlier on request.
Children
Vela is intended for users 18 and older. If you believe a minor has created an account, email privacy@vela.co.za and we will remove it.
